One rule, in public

Bumped is a leaderboard where the only thing that decides your position is what you paid for it. That sentence is the entire product, and this page is why it was built that way.

What it is

A single public board. Every row is a product website or an X @handle, and the rows are sorted by amount paid, highest first. Anyone can read it without an account. Anyone can join it by paying at least $1, and anyone already on it can climb by paying more.

This is new. There is no history here yet, no archive of past leaders and no numbers worth bragging about — the board starts empty and fills in the order that people pay. You can watch that happen on the board itself, which is the only page that really matters.

The one rule

Rank is the bid. Position is never stored on a listing; it is derived from the amounts every time the board is drawn, which means what you see is always the current truth about what has been paid. Equal amounts keep the order they were placed in, so the older bid holds the higher rank and matching someone parks you behind them rather than ahead.

That is the complete ranking logic. The rules page spells out the floor, the ceiling, the increments and what is allowed on the board, but none of it adds a second mechanism. There isn’t one.

How the money works

The first time a link goes up, you pay the whole amount you bid. Every time after that, submitting the same link is a raise of the listing you already hold, and you are charged only the difference between the new amount and your current one. You already paid the rest, so you are not asked for it twice.

The consequence is the part worth understanding: your amount is a running total, and a challenger’s is not. Climbing costs you only the gap between where you are and where you want to be. Passing you costs a newcomer your whole total — every dollar the listing has ever taken, not the last top-up you paid. Cheap to defend, honest to attack.

Bids are whole US dollars, from $1 up to $999,999. Payment is handled by Stripe and card details never touch this site. Money buys one thing — a position on the board — and it is the completed payment, not the intent to pay, that claims it.

Why it is built this way

Nearly every ranked surface online insists it is neutral. Behind that claim sits a model nobody outside can inspect, weighted by things nobody outside was told about, adjusted on a schedule nobody outside sees. You cannot audit it, so you learn to guess at it instead — and guessing at other people’s ranking systems has become an entire industry.

The alternative is not a better secret. It is no secret. Here, the thing that moves a listing is a number printed next to it, the price of moving past anyone is arithmetic you can do before you pay, and every position on the board is explained in full by figures already on the screen. It is not pretending to be a meritocracy, which makes it the rare ranking you can actually verify.

Clicks are counted and shown, because it is useful to know whether a spot is doing anything for you. They have no effect on rank whatsoever.

What is deliberately missing

Absences hold a product’s shape as much as features do. These four are choices, not things waiting to be built.

  • No ads

    Nothing is sold around the board, because the board is the thing being sold.

  • No accounts

    There is nothing to sign up for. A listing is a link and a payment, and that is the whole relationship.

  • No algorithm

    Order comes from one number. Nothing is weighted, decayed, personalised or quietly tuned.

  • No revenue share

    Being listed does not pay you. It buys position and attention, and it is honest about being only that.
